The Port Authority of Myconos has appointed two experts – a naval architect and a captain – in order to examine the circumstances surround the tragic death of a ten-year-old boy at Kalo Livadi.

The Coast Guard report indicates that the victim was on board an inflatable couch that was being tugged by a speedboat and after loosing his balance, he went overboard. The speedboat operator turned the craft around to pick up the child, however he went over the ten-year-old. The child was mortally injured by the speedboat’s propeller.

The child’s remains have been transferred to Syros, where an autopsy will be performed. The owner of the water sports business and the speedboat operator were initially detained and later released. The Coast Guard investigation continues.
