The Veterinarian Service of Serres is conducting an investigation into the possibility of mass poisoning, after about 140 sheep at a farming unit in Vyronia died, after grazing in nearby fields. The farm owners are distraught as their livelihood all but perished with a few days.
The head of the Veterinarian Service of Serres Leonidas Varoudis commented that recently there have been documented instances of sheep being poisoned by grains that had been sprayed with chemicals, without however clarifying whether the cases are linked.
