The police announced that it arrested a 60-year-old man in Nea Selefkia in Thesprotia after he shot upon two thieves who had broken into his house late on Thursday afternoon.

The 60-year-old man and his family were returning to their home at around 6pm on Thursday, when the home-owner noticed the two thieves. He then took a hunting rifle and fired a few warning shots to scare them off. The two young Albanian men took off with jewelry, mobile phones, a photographic camera, banking documents and 700 euros in cash.

After being contacted, the police managed to locate and apprehend the two thieves, aged 26 and 32 years old, along with all of the stolen goods. During their arrest, police officers noticed that the 32-year-old had suffered a wound on his shoulder from buckshot and took to the local hospital in Filiata.
