The prosecution is currently investigating all “hot” OSE and ERGOSE deals, including the Suburban Rail and GSM-R, as well as Deutsche Bahn International’s dealings with ERGOSE and Attiko Metro.

At present the investigation is focusing on the Suburban Rail contract and the reasons that lead to its abolition in 2011, when Dimitris Reppas was the relevant Minister. The investigation is focusing on why the renovated Athens Railway Station was not received and left to rot as well as why the contract was ended.

There is some concern at the Ministry of Infrastructure, since EU and NSRF funding has been tied into the projects, thus complicating and further jeopardizing their future development.

In response to the German courts’ revelation of briberies paid out in Greece, the prosecution has initiated investigation into the consulting Deutsche Bahn International and Lahmayer provided to ERGOSE and Attiko Metro.

The Ministry of Justice will also investigate ERGOSE’s deal for the GSM-R in relation to the Siemens case, which has been settled. According to the settlement 16.5 million euros of debt have been offset, with a further 10.6 million euros to follow suit.
