The board of directors of ESIEA has called all of its union members to participate in the emergency general assembly at the Divani Caravel hotel on Monday at 11 am. As such, the board has decided upon a walkout, between 10 am and 5 pm.
The walkout is to be observed by all newspapers, private and public radio and televisions stations in Attica, the State, local government and the Athens-Macedonia News Agency. The main points of discussion at the assembly, among others, will be the developments in journalist insurance funds and elections.
Government representative Simos Kedikoglou reacted to the announcement, referring to petty political games. According to Mr. Kedikoglou, the journalist union’s leadership confirms the PM’s accusations of a national sabotage against the country’s efforts.
