The Coast Guard recovered the body of a 70-year-old man from the port of Rafina on Sunday afternoon, after having driving it into the sea under unclear circumstances.
As soon as he drove into the sea, a local Coast Guard officer and two citizens attempted to rescue the 70-year-old man to no avail. The driver was recovered by scuba divers and taken to the Sismanoglio General Hospital of Attica, where he was pronounced dad.
The central port authority of Rafina has ordered an investigation into the incident.
