The Greek government submitted its reform proposal to the President of the Eurogroup late on Thursday evening and will seek to have it approved by the House of Parliament on Friday, in order to move on to the final phase of negotiations and sign a new loan agreement.

In the Thursday evening teleconference with the institutions, the Greek side detailed its reform proposals, which appear to have been welcomed at first. The document was then submitted in the Greek Parliament, accompanied by the rime Minister Alexis Tsipras’ request for a new bailout loan.

The proposal doe not include the signatures of the Ministers of Productive Reconstruction Panagiotis Lafazanis and the Minister of National Defense Panos Kammenos. Mr. Lafazanis, who is the head of SYRIZA’s Left Platform, has expressed his opposition to the terms of the agreement.

The reluctance to approve the reform proposal may cause tension within the government, particularly when most of the opposition parties – New Democracy, the River and PASOK – are prepared to approve the measures in Parliament.
