The German Parliament (“Bundestag”) will convene today at 2pm Athens time on Wednesday in order to discuss the latest dramatic developments in Greece.

Aside from Chancellor Angela Merkel, Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel and Minister of Finances Wolfgang Schäuble will take the stand and debate the issue.

Meanwhile Die Linke’s Deputy Chairperson Sahra Wagenknecht has called for a referendum to be carried out in Germany, in order to let the German people decide upon the bailout policy.

Mrs. Wagenknecht argued that she wants the Greek people to vote ‘no’ on Sunday and argued that the latest proposal submitted by the European Commission, ECB and IMF is a continuation of the same failed policy that has been implemented in Greece for the past five years.
