The civil servant confederation ADEDY has announced a walk out in Attica, effective from noon on Thursday, as well as a demonstration outside the Ministry of Labor.

A committee of union representatives has arranged to meet with the Minister of Social Insurance Dimitris Stratoulis at 1pm. According to the statement issued, the walk out and demonstration are in support of the sustainability of pension funds.

Furthermore, ADEDY had demanded that the government abolishes the ‘zero deficit’ clause, while ensuring that the pension system remains distributive, rather than contributory. It has also called for a restoration of Christmas and Holiday bonuses (the 13th and 14th pension) and restoration of loses suffered by the PSI, among others.
