The government has taken the initiative to bring back 2,413 teachers in secondary education, who were made redundant or suspended by the previous government. The government specifically is reversing a previous decision which abolished technical education positions.

By reopening the positions of these 2,413 employees, the general government will have to set aside 9,385,000 euros for 2015 and a further 14,050,000 euros net year.

The Government Gazette that was published on Tuesday contains the decree issued by Alternate Minister of Education Tasos Kourakis, which is retroactively effective as of the 11th of May.

According to the decree, the government will rehire doctors, nurses, beauticians, healthcare assistants, mechanics etc.
