The Alternate Minister of European Affairs Nikos Hountis argued that the government is aiming to soon reach an agreement for all open issues, in a Monday morning interview on Mega Channel.

Mr. Hountis did not rule out that that the much-sought agreement would be implemented in stages and stressed that the time to reach an agreement was running out.

According to the Alternate Minister, the goal is to reach an agreement that will provide a solution to the problems caused by the credit crunch and soaring debt. He also repeated the Greek government’s political will to reach an agreement, as evident at the recent summit in Riga.

Furthermore Mr. Hountis estimated that the agreement to be reached will include provisions for a debt restructure, without which, he argued, no program can be successful.
