The Alternate Minister of Culture Nikos Xydakis announced his intention to restore fixed book prices, which had previously been abolished, in response to a question posed by SYRIZA MP Chrysoula Katsavria in Parliament.
Mr. Xydakis underlined that the abolition of fixed prices was “proven to be catastrophic, resulted in the complete distortion of the market and did not bring any financial gain”.
The Minister of Economy, Infrastructure, Shipping and Tourism Giorgos Stathakis pledged to include the restoration of fixed book prices in the first bill to submitted by his ministry.
