The government Vice President Yannis Dragasakis [pictured] met with and the heads of the four systemic banks on Wednesday morning, in order to discuss the foundation of a growth bank, ‘bad loans’ and the invitation Greece received to join the BRICS-funded growth bank.
Present at the Wednesday morning meeting are Piraeus Banks’ Michalis Sallas, the National Banks’ Louka Katseli, Eurobank’s Nikos Karamouzis and Alpha Bank’s Vasilis Rapanos. The IMF’s former representative in Greece and former VP for the Piraeus Bank Takis Roumeliotis is also at the meeting.
Mr. Roumeliotis was one of candidates considered for the position of president at the Financial Stability Fund, however the latest rumors suggest that banker Giorgos Michelis will be appointed. Mr. Roumeliotis is likely to replace the outgoing FSF managing director Anastasia Sakellariou.
