The government is pushing forward the procedures for the privatizations of regional airports, the Piraeus and Thessaloniki port authorities, marinas, TRAINOSE and DESFA, among others. TAIPED sources have commented that a “political decision” was taken to push the privatization processes forward.

The management of the privatization fund TAIPED has arranged to meet with representatives of Lamda Development, who won the tender for the former airport site in Elliniko.

For this year the government has set a goal of 1.5 billion euros from privatizations. The list of privatizations that is being discussed at the Brussels Group does not include DEI, ADMIE, ELPE or the water companies of Attica (EYDAP) and Thessaloniki (EYATH).

Meanwhile, the operator of the Frankfurt airport, Fraport, which was selected as the preferred bidder for the 14 regional airports in Greece last year, has announced that it is unclear when it will begin operating, since the Greek government is attempting to change the terms of the agreement.
