The 25-year-old mother of Ani Borisova, the four-year-old girl who was brutally murdered by her father, is set to face the courts today in order to address the charges of exposing her child to danger (from which death resulted) and perjury.

So far, the police investigation has not revealed any evidence to suggest that the 25-year-old mother was aware of the brutal murder of her child. It appears that jealousy may have been a motive behind the heinous crime, as police estimate that the mother was planning on moving with her child to Germany.

The 27-year-old father, who has been transferred to a specially-converted cell at the prison in Kerkyra, faces homicide, desecration, inciting perjury and weapons charges. In his deposition, the father detailed how he disposed of his daughter’s remains, but denies killing her.
