The Ministry of Finances announced that after 13 days of coming into effect, about 278,000 applications have been filed for the “100 installments” settlements, for debts worth 1.92 billion euros. So far the government has collected 110 million euros.

This settlement allows taxpayers to write off surcharges equal to the amount of debts they pay, with the minimum monthly payment being 20 euros. If the taxpayer’s debts are less than 5,000 euros, they will also avoid paying interest fees.

In the settlement’s previous form, about 230,000 taxpayers had applied for a settlement, between the end of November 2014 and the end of March 2015. About 193,000 applications for debts worth 1.5 billion euros have been approved, with the State having collected 220 million euros.
