The Manpower Employment Organization (OAED) has published its latest divs on employment and found that there were 3,343 more unemployed seeking for a job on its registers in March, compared to February.

Specifically OAED documented 876,855 unemployed people who were seeking employment in March, compared to 864,512 in February. Overall though, there were 3,871 fewer unemployed in March (1,057,350) compared to February (1,061,221).

About 53.64% of the unemployed who are seeking employment (465,539) have been out of a job for over a year, while 46.36% (402,316) have been jobless for less than 12 months. About 40.1% (347,971) are men and 59.9% (519,884) are women.

On the contrary, the number of unemployed not seeking employment in March amounted to 189,495. OAED’s divs show that 38.18% (72,354) have been out of a job for over a year, compared to 61.82% (117.141) who have only been out of a job for less than 12 months. About 38.82% (73,571) are men and 61.18% (115,924) are women.

Finally, OAED announced that 107,623 unemployed received a benefit in March; about 50.34% (54,179) of those receiving a benefit are men and 49.66% (53,444) are women.
