An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale was documented at 04:57 on Tuesday morning, to the east of Crete, about 27 kilometers south southwest of Kasos and 69.7 kilometers south of Karpathos.

According to the Geodynamic Institute of the National Observatory, the earthquake occurred at a depth of about 10 kilometers, in the same areas a stronger, 6.1-magnitude earthquake on the Thursday, 16th of April.

Five aftershocks followed what appears to be the main tremor, one of which measured 3.5 Richter.. Over the past 24 hours there have been fifteen tremors documented ranging from 2.6 to 4.1 Richter.
