The European Commissioner for Financial Affairs Pierre Moscovici and the Vice President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis have urged the Greek government to carry out reforms immediately, in order to safeguard its position within the Eurozone.

Mr. Moscovici [pictured left] told a French television network that the Greek government must provide a comprehensive plan of reforms, in order to maintain its position in the Eurozone. According to the French commissioner there are no other plans, other than Greece remaining in the euro and underlined that there as not time to lose.

Similarly, the EC VP Dombrovskis [pictured center] told Bloomberg that Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras must demonstrate his willingness to carry out the reforms, by having the list of agreed reform proposals approved by the Parliament in Athens. Such a development could help Greece secure its position in the monetary union and unlock further bailout funding.

Meanwhile the European Commission Vice-president for Jobs, Growth, Investment and Competitiveness Jyrki Katainen will be arriving in Athens on Thursday. The Finnish Commissioner will deliver a speech at the French Institute in Athens on the European Union’s new investment plan and will later address an event on growth, private investments and jobs that is being organized by the Greek Federation of Enterprises (SEV).
