The Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has expressed his approval of a proposal made by New Democracy MP Dora Bakoyanni, for the formation of a “Committee of Wise Men”, who will evaluate the weaknesses of the policies implemented over the past five years in Greece.
Mr. Tsipras responded to Mrs. Bakoyanni’s proposal on Thursday, shortly after it was submitted to him and argued that it was “an extremely interesting initiative” and noted that it could operate alongside the Parliamentary Committee that is to examine the circumstances that lead Greece to the bailout agreements.
Furthermore, he committed to passing on the proposal to the President of Parliament Zoi Konstantopoulou, in hope that she also approves and works towards its implementation.
In her proposal Mrs. Bakoyanni stated that the “Committee of Wise Men” may be comprised of recognized economists and renown scientists, such as professor Christoforos Pissaridis, in order to compose a detailed report, which could help in the upcoming critical negotiations in June.
