The Versa tour operator, which is based in St. Petersburg and has about 2,000 clients in Greece at the moment, has declared bankruptcy, raising the number of tour operator bankruptcies to 14.
Earlier in the year major tour operators such as Solvex and Southern Cross were among the bankrupt companies, causing concerns in Greece over the impact on tourism and revenue.
The closure of the tour operators has been estimated to have resulted in damages worth 15 million euros in the tourist sector.
