Despite a rather impressive start at the U18 Men’s FIBA Eurobasket in Turkey, Greece finished in 4th place after being defeated by Croatia in the Bronze Metal game.

Ilias Papatheodorou’s players started off strong in the first quarter (11-19), with the Croatian team balancing the game in the second quarter (30-28). The game became a proper derby in the third quarter (54-52), with Greece unable to maintain a league.

Greece unfortunately could not match Croatia’s Arapovic, whose stellar performance made all the difference in the game. Greece managed to reduce the difference to 73-71 about 7 seconds from the end with a three-pointer from Economopoulos, but in the end Croatia won 75-71.

The Greek team will be returning to Athens at 11:35 on Monday.
