The Deputy Prosecutor of the Supreme Court Vasilis Pliotas has proposed that that Judicial Council refers the former Minister of Finances Giorgos Papakonstantinou to the Special Court over his handling of the infamous “Lagarde List”

Mr. Papakonstantinou will face two felony charges – breach of faith and adulterating documents – and a misdemeanor charge of breach of duty. Additionally the prosecution has proposed that the former Minister’s cousin Eleni Papakonstantinou, her husband Symeon Sikiaridis and Andreas Rosonis also stand trial.

Mr. Papakonstantinou is alleged to have doctored the illustrious list of potential tax evaders by removing the details of his relatives.
