President Karolos Papoulias is scheduled to inaugurate an exhibition to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the restoration of Democracy, which will be hosted at the Eleftherios K. Venizelos hall in Parliament.

The exhibition, which begins on Thursday, contains official legislative and constitutional documents, newspaper and magazine front covers, photographs and videos from the time, as well as posters, political banners, ballots from the 1974 elections and referendum that took place one year after the Cypriot tragedy and the collapse of the military dictatorship.

This period in contemporary Greek history was characterized by a sense of uncertainty and danger, with the political personnel of the country facing many challenges in authoring the Constitution and restoring Democracy in Greece.

The exhibition, which will be open for the public in September, was prepared by the Library of Parliament and the Foundation for Parliamentarism and Democracy, under the scientific supervision of experts.
