The horror from the ongoing conflict in Gaza goes beyond all sense of reason, as the world looks on. The mass execution of children and unarmed people by Israeli force cannot be justified by any self defense logic. Israel may have the right to defend its people from Hamas’ rockets, but it does not have the right to attack everyone indiscriminately.
The never-ending cycle of blood in Palestine must finally come to an end. All it achieves is to galvanize the stubborn voices on each side and sabotages any attempt to talk and come to an agreement. However many rockets are fired or invasions staged, there can be no solution to this dead end if logic does not prevail. The UN’s general secretary stated that unless the problem is tackled in depth, if the Palestinians continue to feel the need to resort to violence to express their suffering, then no military action can ensure long-term security in Israel.
Diplomats and international analysts note that the hundreds of dead from the recent conflicts support the Hamas extremists, while weakening the voices of reason amongst the Palestinians. As it has been proven in the past, when precarious Israeli military achievements are coupled with butchered victims, there cannot be any long-term security in Israel.
The only safe way out of the deadlock, to bring peace to the Middle East and end the cycle of blood is for logic to prevail on both sides. They must find a way to come to an agreement and live together peacefully, with respect to the rights and particularities of each other. The path of blood, the logic of weapons and rockets have been proven time and again that they only create dead ends and human tragedies…
