The appearance and comments made by former Prime Minister and leader of PASOK Giorgos Papandreou at the book presentation of DIMAR MEP candidate Marilena Koppa on Monday has sparked fierce reactions from PASOK officers.
The current leader of PASOK and Government Vice President Evangelos Venizelos quoted the closing verse from surrealist poet Nikos Engonopoulos’ opus Bolivar, asking Mr. Papandreou “general, what were you doing in Larissa, you from Hydra”.
Mr. Venizelos’ close associate Panos Koukoulopoulos appeared on Mega Channel on Tuesday morning and commented that “politically, what happened was a storm in a glass of water” and argued that Mr. Papandreou’s actions will only be of interest to the historians of the future.
PASOK MP Michalis Kassis was less forgiving in his words and claimed that “Giorgos Papandreou has betrayed us all”, while fellow PASOK MP Giorgos Dolios, who appeared on SKAI, stressed that “it was not the correct political move”
