The government and the Ministry of Growth are determined to have the first auctions of real estate property which has been protected since 2008 at the start of next year.

A regulation protecting all real estate with an unpaid loan of up to 200,000 euros will be repealed. The government also plans to reduce the objective value of real estate property that will be protected from auctions.

Sources from the Ministry of Growth have suggested that special considerations will be made in order to protect vulnerable homeowners who have taken out loans, such as unemployed, large families and people with disabilities.
