The Ministers of Justice Nikos Paraskevopoulos and Public Order Nikos Toskas will meet with the Supreme Court Prosecutor Efterpi Koutzamani at 11am on Wednesday, accompanied by the government’s general secretary Michalis Kalogirou and the supervisor of the Prime Minister’s office Dimitris Tzanakopoulos.

The initiative for the Wednesday morning meeting was taken by the three government officials in order to testify everything they know in relation to the allegations made by the former Minister of Public Order Yannis Panousis. Mr. Panousis has alleged that SYRIZA party officials had been in contact with imprisoned members of the Conspiracy of Fire Cells militant group.

On his way out of the prosecutor’s office, the Alternate Minister of Public Order Nikos Toskas commented that “we trust the justice system” and noted that the publication of classified documents raises issues of national security.

We reported a rather problematic phenomenon, the publication of documents that appear classified and their reproduction, while likely has penal consequences” noted the Minister of Justice.

The Minister of Justice is likely to file a complaint regarding the publication of state secrets and classified documents of the national intelligence service EYP . The complaint will primarily be concerned with the publication of EYP documents in an effort to determine who leaked the alleged discussions to the media and whether they were accurate.

In the recorded talks between a SYRIZA official and an imprisoned SPF member it appears that a negotiation was taking place in order to influence legislation. In an appearance on Mega Channel the Justice Minister disputed the former Public Order Minister’s claims and noted that the legislation that emerged had many provisions that disappointed prisoner groups.

Furthermore Mr. Paraskevopoulos argued that he too has received threats, like Mr. Panousis, but chose to deal with them in a different way. He also expressed his confidence regarding the matter since the Supreme Court will investigate.
