Counter-terrorism squad raids lairs of suspected extreme right group
From the early hours of Tuesday morning, Greek Police’s Counter-Terrorism Squad (DAEEB) has been conducting operations in Attica and in one provincial city, which was not named by authorities.
Counter-terrorism police arrested six individuals who are being investigated for participation in a criminal organisation, for possession of explosives, and for having set off explosions and having conducted arson attacks.
The homes of suspects are also being searched.
According to the initial information, the individuals arrested are members of the extreme-right group “Combat 18 Hellas”.
Their possible participation in attacks against meeting places of anti-authority groups, including Favela in Piraeus, is being investigated.
