The results of the autopsy that was carried out on the body of the 65-year-old pensioner that was discovered in a fridge freezer have revealed that the victim died from asphyxiation and may have been strangled.

According to the autopsy results, the victim’s mouth and nose was covered with duct tape and a bag was placed over his head. Further information surrounding the circumstances of his death will be available as soon as the series of lab tests conclude.

So far the police have not ruled out the possibility that the 45-year-old Bulgarian partner of the victim being involved in the crime. The 45-year-old woman reportedly left Greece shortly before the victim was reported missing.

The investigation is in full swing, with Greek authorities having requested assistance from Interpol in order to locate the Bulgarian woman’s 27-year-old son from a previous marriage, who is also suspected of being involved.
