The coalition government’s legislative initiatives will be at the top of the agenda at the final ministerial council meeting for 2015, which will convene on Wednesday morning under PM Alexis Tsipras.
At the start of the council meeting, the Prime Minister outlined the 11 legislative initiatives the coalition government must take over the next period and stressed the need for his ministers to better coordinate their actions in order to avoid delays.
When referring to the critical pension system reform, PM Tsipras argued that his does not intend to carry out the 12th consecutive reduction in main pensions. He also noted that a reform proposal will be submitted in parliament by mid January.
According to the Prime Minister, the pension system reform is the final step before the bailout program review can begin, after which point the talks on the necessary reduction of the Greek public debt are scheduled to begin.
