The Ministry of Labor has issued a statement refuting media reports suggesting that pensions over 1,000 euros will face an 11% cut, while underlining that it will not carry out any across-the-board cuts, like previous administration did.
Furthermore, the Minister explains that the European Commission’s proposals on the pension reform have not yet been submitted, nor have they been examined to determine their effect.
“Our country needs a fair pension system, with uniform rules for everyone, which will secure the social redistribution in favor of the small and medium incomes” concluded the statement, adding that the government will fulfill this commitment.
