The US Department of State has removed the notorious Revolutionary Organization 17 November from its list of foreign terrorist organizations, according to the US Federal Register.

Recently and after consulting with the Departments of Justice and the Treasury, the US Secretary of State John Kerry announced that the group was being delisted since the circumstances for which it was initially included have changed.

There have been no further explanations regarding the decision and circumstances that led to the removal of 17N from the list of foreign terrorist organizations.

The group which was disbanded after the arrests and trials of many members in 2002, was originally designated as a foreign terrorist organization by American authorities in October 1997.
