The Ministry of Finances is attempting to put an end to beach parties, as the General Secretariat of Public Property has informed municipal authorities that the occupation of public beaches and use of loudspeaker facilities for the organization of such events is banned.

According to the relevant ministerial decision that was issued in May, the beaches may only be used by the owners of bars, canteens, maritime vessels etc. The ban on beach parties also applies to those held on the shores of rivers and lakes.

Nevertheless in the document issued by the GS of Public Property, it is recognized that it will be difficult to enforce the rule, as loudspeaker facilities may quickly be deployed and packed up, making inspections problematic.
