The Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Kotzias told journalists that calling general election is a “reasonable” and “inevitable” solution, during handover ceremony and welcoming of the new Alternate Minister of European Affairs Sia Anagnostopoulou and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yannis Amanatidis.

Mr. Kotzias noted that “we will inevitably go to elections the moment we see a political crisis” and stressed that a government that relies on votes from the opposition parties cannot last long. Mr. Kotzias also underlined that it is unacceptable for half of the governing party’s officers to act as the opposition.
