The General Secretary of Social Security Giorgos Romanias announced his intention to resign over the next few days, in response to the measures contained in the new bailout agreement.
Mr. Romanias, who made the announcement on ANT1, explained that he does not agree with the measures that will be introduced and was angered about the interventions he received. He noted that within a space of two hours he was given three different proposals about regarding the bill submitted in Parliament.
“I will not stick around to implement things that I do not believe in […] I will not remain in my post just to collect 4,750 euros each month” he underlined and alleged that neither he, nor the Alternate Minister of Social Insurance Dimitris Stratoulis had been informed of the bill provisions regarding the Ministry of Labor.
