The Minister of Interior Nikos Voutsis told journalists that the “pressure verged on a coup”, as he arrived in Parliament on Tuesday morning, for a SYRIZA Parliamentary Group meeting.

Mr. Voutsis commented that everyone in his party will be allowed to express their opinion and their stance will determine the future of the government. Despite opposition to the agreement by a section of SYRIZA officer, the Interior Minister was confident that the Prime Minister would receive the necessary support.

The Interior Minister also sated that it was important to find the necessary social countermeasures, which may offer some prospect for the future, adding that “escaping will achieve nothing”.
