The expanded political council meeting that was held at New Democracy’s central offices concluded around noon, with a call to support the government’s agreement proposal.

New Democracy’s provisional president Evangelos Meimarakis reportedly argued that the agreement will be backed, as it will keep Greece in Europe and the Eurozone.

The main opposition party however warned that while New Democracy “authorizes” the PM to carry on with the negotiations to avert a Grexit, a discussion on how this agreement was reached must take place.
