The Minister of National Defense and leader of the Independent Greeks Panos Kammenos argued that for the first time, the Greek people are going to Brussels united, following a meeting of his party’s parliamentary group.

Mr. Kammenos, who praised his party officers and MPs for their efforts in the election campaign for the referendum, noted that the overwhelming result of Sunday’s referendum proved that the Greek people cannot be terrorized, threatened or intimidated

It is an important political victory for the country” he said of the referendum result, while underlining that the Greek Prime Minister will go to Brussels with the backing of 62% of the population and all parties – aside from the Communist Party which urged voters to abstain from the referendum.

According to the ANEL leader, the goal of the Greek government in the negotiations with the creditors in Brussels is to secure an agreement that will promote growth and stability.
