The Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras issued a statement regarding the outcome of the critical referendum, announcing that he is prepared to resume negotiations. Mr. Tsipras also called a council of political leaders on Monday.

In his short statement, the PM argued that it is his duty to overcome the crisis and that the controversial issue of debt relief will be on the negotiations table. He explained that the recent IMF report confirms the Greek government’s persistence on debt relief and that his first priority is to restore the country’s financial situation.

Mr. Tsipras stressed that the outcome of the referendum in Greece was not a mandate for a rupture with Europe, which he will serve without any delay. He noted that the Greek people need unity and cohesion to overcome the difficulties.
