The Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Kotzias will go on an official visit to FYROM, to further strengthen the bonds and cooperation of Greece with its Balkan neighbors, in an effort to support regional stability and security.

Mr. Kotzias will meet with a number of officials, starting with his counterpart Nikola Poposki. The two Foreign Ministers will hold a press conference after their talks. The Greek Minister will then meet with the Deputy Prime Minister for European Union Affairs Fatmir Besimi, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski and President Gjorge Ivanov.

Finally, Mr. Kotzias will also meet with the heads of the main coalition and opposition parties. Specifically, he will meet with the opposition leader and head of the SDSM Zoran Zaev, DPA President Menduh Thaci, and with the President of government coalition partner DUI Ali Ahmeti.

The Foreign Affairs Minister of FYROM Nikola Poposki commented that his meeting with Mr. Kotzias was especially important and revealed that the main issues on their agenda will be the naming dispute, the proposed confidence building measures between the two countries, as well as further developing bilateral relations.

Following his official trip in FYROM, the Greek Minister will briefly return to Thessaloniki, before flying out Belgrade for meetings with Serb officials. He will also visit Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro, while trips have also been planned for Sarajevo, Pristina and Tirana.
