The Felony Appeal Court of Athens has rejected the latest – and sixth overall – parole application by Vicky Stamati, who has stressed that she will apply again.

The wife of the convicted former Minister of National Defense Akis Tsohatzopoulos was initially sentenced to 12 years imprisonment for money laundering in October 2013. She was soon transferred to the Dromokaitio psychiatric hospital, from where she briefly escaped.

In a previous court session the prosecution argued against Mrs. Stamati’s parole application, citing her recent escape and the understanding that she will not suffer permanent harm if she continues serving her prison sentence.
