The Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has called a meeting of SYRIZA’s political secretariat for 3pm on Tuesday, where he will provide updates on the progress of negotiations, as well as the counter-proposals submitted by the Greek government.

Initially the political secretariat was scheduled to convene at the end of last week, however the meeting was postponed due to the discussion taking place in Parliament regarding the negotiations.

While many SYRIZA officers and MP have rejected the agreement proposal submitted by the creditors, many have also lashed out against the government’s own, 47-page agreement proposal, primarily for deviating from election pledges.

On Monday the government formally refuted rumors that it was making plans for early elections and underlined that it intends to complete its four-year term.
