The European Commission and Europa Nostra announced the winners of the 2015 awards for conservation, research and digitization, dedicated services and education, training and awareness-raising.

The Europa Nostra Awards promote excellence, inspire through the “power of example” and stimulate the exchange of best practices in the heritage field across Europe. They also aim to communicate to the general public the beauty and the economic and social value of Europe’s cultural heritage.

This year Greece won 3 of the 28 awards that were given out to various cultural heritage projects across Europe, for the restoration of the Antouaniko Mansion on Chios, the digital heritage management of Hermoupolis on Syros and the restoration of Lasithi Plateu’s windmills with perforated sails.

The award ceremony will be held on the 11th of June in Oslo, Norway
