The Minister of Health Adonis Georgiadis and the Nikos Pappas director of SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras’ office, clashed on SKAI’s morning chat show over changes in healthcare.

Mr. Pappas urged the Minister of Health to speak of “the 11 hospitals that are about to shut down”, with the Minister dismissing the claim arguing that “If the opposition paid attention at reading the bailout, they would know what we are up to”. Mr. Georgiadis claimed that there was no bailout commitment, but rather a programmed move that will conclude hospital mergers.

Regarding the outbreak of the MERS virus in Greece, Mr. Georgiadis appeared reassuring and stressed that the 69-year-old carrier has been “located and isolated quickly”, thus minimizing the risk.
