The spokesman on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Konstantinos Koutras responded to the recent comments of Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan and urged him to be more careful when making any historic and geographic references to “an area with a vivid historic charge” such as the Balkans.

Mr. Koutras explained that the respect of Greece’s sovereignty and the territorial integrity of all nations in the Balkans is a paramount, non-negotiable position and added that Greece “could also make many historic references”.
