The ‘Efimerida ton Syntakton’ daily newspaper has reported a fascist attack against the ‘Synergio’ social center in Ilioupoli by what appear to be Golden Dawn supporters.
The newspaper reports that a group of about 80 to 100 people in Golden Dawn shirts approached the social center around 19:30. There they attacked a group of children during an English language class, injuring a 60 year-old teacher and another adult.
The group of fascists also caused damage to the social center with clubs and dropped Golden Dawn leaflets before leaving. This is the third time the social center has been targeted by such attacks. Before the attack, the group drove their motorcycles in a convoy through Agiou Konstantinou Avenue, where the Ilioupoli Police Department is housed.
Local residents have repeatedly complained about the Police’s indifference and apathy towards the attacks, ever since the social center was set up a year ago.
