In a televised interview on NET, SYRIZA MP in charge of economic politics Giannis Dragasakis explained that the abolition of the property tax will only affect certain groups of citizens. Mr. Dragasakis also maintained that SYRIZA’s commitment to reinstating the minimum wage to pre-crisis levels will become more difficult to achieve, as long as the recession continues.
New Democracy issued a response noting that “Mr. Dragasakis essentially dubbed his leader Mr. Tsipras a liar, by disputing his party’s commitments” and further stressed that “it is obvious that one of them is laying, ether Mr. Tsipras who claims one law will revert wages and pensions to pre-crisis levels, or Mr. Dragasakis”.
SYRIZA responded, accusing New Democracy of “total confusion” and “being unable of answering SYRIZA’s suggestions for a socially just exit from the crisis by canceling memorandum politics”. New Democracy responded yet once more, claiming SYRIZA’s politics to be based on “insults and constant whining about supposedly misrepresenting” its opinions.
