The ESEE, GSEVEE and Union of Cooperative Banks are working together towards founding an investment bank for small and medium-sized enterprises. According to their announcement, the banks will increase cash-flow and maximize the absorption of EU funds, by taking advantages of the cooperative bank structure.

Following a meeting between the unions, ESEE president Vasilis Korkidis stated that the new banking landscape will restrict the access and service of small and medium-sized businesses. Cooperative banks however were set-up in order to support local businesses, by returning their trust with business loans.

Mr. Korkidis further explained that the closer working relationship of the cooperative banks with ESEE, GSEVEE and 285 commercial unions, will expand the services of Greek trade and small and medium-sized enterprise.
