The Ministry of Finances announced that tax payers can amend their real estate declaration without any penalties by the 30th of November, while it prepares a series of changes to the tax in order to appease the intense reaction from political parties, taxpayers and institutions.
In its announcement the Ministry clarified that taxpayers can submit changes and not face a fine, while offsetting the final payable sum with any payments already made.
The Finance Ministry accepted that there were excessive and unfair charges in some cases, which it attributes to taxpayer mistakes and to not observing special circumstances as stated in the relevant law. To that effect, the Ministry vows to quickly restore any injustices that may have risen.
